About the Role

Technical Support Engineer role providing embedded escalation engineering support for Azure Analytics, specifically Azure Databricks. The position involves working with engineering teams to resolve complex customer issues, identify trends to improve support workflows, and influence product improvements. This is a flexible role allowing up to 50% remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering investigations to resolve customer support incidents
  • Build solutions and tools to automate issue detection and diagnosis
  • Identify emerging trends and drive engineering opportunities to mitigate recurring issues
  • Contribute to product improvements by filing impactful bugs and design change requests
  • Provide periodic on-call rotation service as primary response to service escalations

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field AND 5+ years technical support/consulting experience OR 7+ years equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in customer-facing or support role (technical escalation, product support, IT DevOps, etc.)
  • 2+ years experience with Microsoft Azure Platform
  • 2+ years experience with Azure Analytics - Azure Databricks or Azure Networking Services/Virtual Machine/Storage
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted work rights

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Open-Source technology
  • Service engineering and/or DevOps experience at internet scale
  • BS in computer science or engineering or equivalent industry experience
