About the Role

This is a Senior Technical Support Engineer role focused on SQL Engine within Microsoft's Customer Service & Support team. The engineer will troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide advanced customer support, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve escalated problems. The position requires weekend shifts and on-call rotation, with flexibility to work up to 50% from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, troubleshoot, and solve complex customer technical issues for SQL Engine
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and develop solutions to meet customer needs
  • Maintain ownership of escalated, technically complex mission-critical issues until resolved
  • Create advanced online technical content like Knowledge Base articles and blogs
  • Participate in team-wide shift rotations including on-call responsibilities and weekend work

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any STEM related field with significant computing element
  • MS SQL Server DBA experience including installation, configuration, and administration
  • Experience with High Availability & DR solutions (AlwaysOn Availability Groups, FCI, etc.)
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations and maintain calm in stressful environments
