About the Role

The Sr. Applied Scientist will develop AI solutions for Prime Video's search systems using deep learning, GenAI, and reinforcement learning. They will work end-to-end on machine learning models, conduct experiments, and publish research findings. This role involves close collaboration with engineering and product teams to enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI solutions for Prime Video Search using deep learning, GenAI, and reinforcement learning
• Work with engineers and product managers to design, implement, and launch AI solutions end-to-end
• Design and conduct offline and online (A/B) experiments to evaluate solutions
• Communicate technical and non-technical ideas with teammates and stakeholders
• Publish research findings in top conferences and journals

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• 5+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark
