About the Role

The Sr. Applied Scientist will develop AI solutions for Prime Video Search using deep learning, GenAI, and reinforcement learning. They will design, implement, and launch end-to-end AI solutions, conduct experiments, and publish research findings. This senior role involves hands-on machine learning and research leadership to enhance customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI solutions for Prime Video Search using deep learning, GenAI, reinforcement learning, and optimization
• Work with engineers and product managers to design, implement, and launch AI solutions end-to-end
• Design and conduct offline and online (A/B) experiments based on data analyses
• Communicate technical and non-technical ideas with teammates and stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in modeling techniques and publish research in top conferences/journals

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• 5+ years of building machine learning models for business applications
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark
