About the Role

The Senior Applied Scientist will develop AI/ML solutions for autonomous delivery robots, focusing on navigation, obstacle detection, and path planning. This role involves transforming research into production-ready systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and reliability in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced AI/ML models for autonomous navigation and object detection
• Design experiments, analyze datasets, and create novel algorithms to improve robot performance
• Integrate ML solutions into robotics platforms and optimize for edge computing
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to research publications
• Develop robust ML pipelines and deep learning architectures for challenges like weather navigation

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark
