About the Role

Meta is hiring a Software Engineer (Robotics) to work on cutting-edge robotics and AI projects, collaborating with researchers to implement state-of-the-art algorithms on real hardware and simulations. The role involves designing evaluations, improving model performance, and contributing to research that impacts product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to define technical goals and lead implementation
  • Collaborate with researchers to design and implement AI algorithms on robots and simulations
  • Design and conduct evaluations of AI models on robotic systems to identify limitations and improvements
  • Communicate complex features to stakeholders
  • Publish research results and contribute to impactful research

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in robotics or related field, or advanced degree with equivalent experience
  • Experience in robotics research areas like generative AI, robot learning, reinforcement learning, or embodied AI
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or C++

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with generative AI, especially VLM
  • PhD in computer science, robotics, AI, or related fields
  • Experience solving complex problems and analyzing tradeoffs
  • Experience with large-scale data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience building systems based on machine/deep learning
  • Experience working cross-functionally in teams
  • Experience with robot simulations and real-world hardware
  • Proven knowledge of robotics fundamentals (perception, planning, control)
  • Proven track record with publications or patents in ML/Robotics/CV conferences
  • Experience designing new robotic systems or infrastructure
  • 7+ years of industry experience or advanced degree equivalent
