About the Role

Software Engineer II role focused on building AI-powered finance systems at Microsoft. Responsibilities include designing AI platform services, developing finance applications, and integrating AI models. This hybrid role requires on-site presence in Redmond three days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement shared AI capabilities including prompt orchestration and RAG adapters
• Build copilots and agents for financial planning, analysis, and compliance scenarios
• Prototype and evaluate emerging AI capabilities like tool use and multi-agent patterns
• Integrate models using Azure OpenAI Service and build evaluation pipelines
• Implement monitoring, logging, and security measures for AI systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in SQL, Python, C#, JavaScript or similar
• 1+ years building AI features or applications using machine learning or LLMs
• 2+ years building cloud services on Azure, AWS, GCP or equivalent

Nice to Have:

• 4+ years software development experience with large scale data processing systems
• Experience with Azure services like Azure Functions, Kubernetes, Azure Machine Learning
• Familiarity with AI concepts including embeddings, vector search, and prompt design
• Experience taking research prototypes to production with experiment design
• Finance domain knowledge
