About the Role
Senior Technical Power Harvesting Engineer at Microsoft optimizes datacenter power harvesting and capacity using AI modeling, engineering analysis, and automation. Responsibilities include analyzing datacenter infrastructure, developing engineering models, and implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance efficiency. The role requires collaboration with global teams to innovate and scale datacenter operations.Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed analysis of datacenter Space, Power, Cooling and Network (SPCN) assessment to identify power harvesting opportunities
- Develop engineering models for capacity recovery, stranded capacity reduction, and 'failover' analysis
- Develop Generative AI technologies to solve complex engineering and operational challenges
- Leverage programming tools to deliver data-driven analytics for predictive and insightful analysis
- Collaborate with Power Harvesting IUE program managers and Datacenter Operations engineers to develop optimization strategies
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical
- 3+ years’ experience in engineering or operations of hyperscale datacenters or large-scale critical systems
- 3+ years' experience with programming development skills and/or generative AI applications
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud background check
Nice to Have:
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Python coding experience for developing model solutions
- Ability to use Kusto Query for statistical data analysis
