About the Role

Senior Software Engineer role in Azure Compute's Availability Platform team, focusing on ensuring high availability and reliability of Azure VMs through AI-driven predictive failure models and automation. Responsibilities include designing scalable systems, collaborating with stakeholders, and integrating cutting-edge AI to enhance diagnostics and incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements and develop design documents
  • Works with partner teams to ensure proper end-to-end testing, scalability, and performance
  • Creates, implements, optimizes, and debugs code to improve performance and maintainability
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor systems and guide other engineers
  • Applies best practices for secure design, scaling, and performance to meet customer requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience designing algorithms and data structures
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing analytical skills with a systematic and structured approach to systems design
