About the Role

Senior Software Engineer role building hyper-scale data ingestion services for Office365. Responsible for designing and scaling distributed systems handling massive daily data uploads while ensuring privacy and compliance. Works with cross-functional teams to onboard data ingestion services and maintain service quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build high quality, performant and reliable distributed ingestion service
• Design and build modernized telemetry/monitoring/reporting systems to get insights of service quality
• Improve service performance and efficiency to reduce cost of service
• Work with privacy & compliance teams to design and build solutions to prevent/detect/resolve privacy issues
• Collaborate with other Office365 teams to manage their data ingestion service, provide solutions and guidance

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
• Pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
