About the Role

Senior Software Engineer role on the Azure Networking SONiC team, building software for network switches and routers in Microsoft's global data centers. The position involves solving complex networking problems, supporting high-speed switches, and contributing to open-source switch software.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements
• Drive development of design documents for products and platforms
• Create, implement, optimize, debug, and refactor code
• Leverage expertise to drive project plans and work items
• Act as Designated Responsible Individual and guide other engineers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
• Minimum 4 years experience in IP networking and/or distributed systems
• Minimum 4 years experience in Linux operating system
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check

Nice to Have:

• Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree AND 6+ years experience
• 3+ years experience with SDN technologies (Overlay Switching/Routing, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, EITF RFCs, SDN Controllers)
• 3+ years experience with container-based technologies
