About the Role

Senior Forward Deployed Scientist role at Microsoft's AI Applied Engineering team, focusing on building AI/ML solutions for enterprise customers using Azure AI services. Responsibilities include co-innovating with customers, developing agentic AI solutions, and driving platform improvements. Requires expertise in AI/ML techniques, software development, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Build world class AI and ML solutions for customers involving GenAI, AI Agents, and fine-tuned models
• Architect state-of-the-art solutions addressing customer business needs with reliability and safety
• Collaborate with engineering teams and researchers to integrate cutting-edge AI Foundry platform
• Act as primary technical advisor for customers evaluating Agents and Azure Direct Foundry models
• Travel occasionally to customer sites for workshops, implementation support, and relationship building

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Doctorate in relevant field OR equivalent experience
• 1+ year of related research experience with AI/ML techniques and tools (e.g., LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering)
• 1+ years of experience with software design and development using general purpose programming language (Python/Java/C# etc.)
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements including Microsoft Cloud Background Check

Nice to Have:

• 3+ years of experience with software design and development using general purpose programming language and knowledge of data pipelines
• Experience with LLMs, GPT models, prompt engineering, and building Agentic Solutions
• Experience in dealing with ambiguity, and handling changes in customer requirements
