About the Role

Senior Applied Scientist role at AWS's Generative AI Innovation Center, focusing on applying generative AI to solve real-world customer problems. Responsibilities include designing and implementing bespoke AI solutions, collaborating with customers, and guiding them through adoption and production paths.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate generative AI solutions
• Interact with customers directly to understand business problems and guide implementation of generative AI solutions
• Help customers build solutions through prompt engineering, model selection, training, or fine-tuning
• Provide customer and market feedback to product and engineering teams to define product direction

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark
