About the Role

Senior Applied Scientist role focused on building advanced machine learning algorithms to enhance customer shopping experiences on Amazon. The position involves using NLP and Computer Vision to develop scalable systems that improve product search, discovery, and purchase behavior. You'll work with AWS tools and collaborate with teams to implement innovative models.

Key Responsibilities

• Use statistical and machine learning techniques to create scalable systems
• Analyze large amounts of historical business data for Recommender/Matching algorithms
• Design, develop and evaluate innovative models for NLP/CV
• Work with teams to drive real-time model implementations and new features
• Establish automated processes for large scale data analyses and model development

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
• 3+ years building machine learning models for business applications
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools like R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow
• Experience with large scale distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark
