About the Role

The Senior Applied Scientist will join the AGI team to develop novel data, modeling, and engineering solutions using Large Language Models and multimodal systems. This role focuses on responsible AI initiatives and directly impacts customer products and services involving audio technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop novel data, modeling and engineering solutions for responsible AI initiatives
• Work with world-class scientists and engineers on AGI projects
• Impact customers through products and services using audio technology
• Push boundaries of what's possible with generative AI and Amazon's ML infrastructure
• Prioritize customer needs using Amazon's customer obsession principle

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications
• PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Nice to Have:

• Experience with modeling tools (R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy)
• Experience with large scale distributed systems (Hadoop, Spark)
• Experience with generative deep learning models for audio and text (CNNs, GANs, VAEs, Transformers)
