About the Role

The Senior Applied Scientist will lead development of state-of-the-art GenAI algorithms for computer vision across image and video modalities. This role involves driving Generative AI technologies for Amazon-scale use cases and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex GenAI problems in Computer Vision
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate algorithm and model performance
• Think strategically about multi-year GenAI development and identify new application opportunities
• Communicate results and insights to technical and non-technical audiences
• Mentor and guide junior scientists and engineers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD or Master's degree with 5+ years of applied research experience
• 4+ years of building machine learning models for business applications
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field with focus on GenAI in Computer Vision
• Experience with multimodal LLMs and GenAI in Computer Vision across image and video domains
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience with patents or publications at top-tier conferences or journals
