About the Role

This is a PhD-level research scientist internship focused on developing next-generation interaction technologies for virtual and augmented reality. The role involves designing algorithms in computer vision, machine learning, and sensor fusion, and collaborating across disciplines to advance perception for human inputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execution of algorithms in computer vision, machine learning, computer graphics, sensor fusion, or HCI
  • Design of user studies and experiments
  • Collaboration with other researchers across various disciplines
  • Communication of research agenda, progress, and results

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in EE/CS, Applied Math, or related STEM field
  • Experience in computer vision, computer graphics, robotics, machine learning, NLP, or HCI
  • Excellent communication skills and high creativity/problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with C++ or Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow

Nice to Have:

  • Proven track record via grants, patents, or first-authored publications at top conferences/journals
  • Demonstrated software engineering experience via internships, work, or open-source contributions
  • Experience with high-volume multi-sensor streaming data processing and real-time sensor fusion
  • Experience optimizing and deploying deep learning models on mobile SoCs for real-time applications
