About the Role

The Regional Chief Engineer ensures 100% uptime of critical data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems. They lead maintenance, emergency response, and strategic projects while training technical staff and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment operates at peak efficiency with planned and corrective maintenance.
• Manage small-to-medium projects from conception to completion, collaborating with engineering, automation, and finance teams.
• Direct, train, and support Engineering Operation Technicians in troubleshooting and operating critical equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardization of procedures, policies, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with third-party providers to deliver operational excellence and ensure customer infrastructure uptime.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 15+ years' experience in a high-volume mission-critical operational environment (e.g., data center, healthcare, manufacturing).
• 10+ years' leadership experience in engineering/technical operations for medium to large-scale environments.
• Proven experience in strategic project/portfolio management delivering medium to large-scale technical projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with ability to prioritize in complex environments.

Nice to Have:

• Associates or Bachelors in applicable engineering field or mechanical/electrical trades.
• Operating engineering licenses (e.g., DC II, DC III, Stationary Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Journeyman License).
• CFC license, NFPA 70E certification, and meets Amazon's leadership principles requirements.
