About the Role

The Public Policy Manager for AWS in KSA will represent AWS before policymakers, build relationships with government and industry stakeholders, and advocate for policies that support cloud computing growth. Responsibilities include developing advocacy objectives, assessing regulatory issues, and facilitating high-level meetings with officials. The role requires government affairs experience and fluency in English and Arabic.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement government affairs advocacy objectives and policy priorities for AWS in Saudi Arabia
• Represent AWS policy positions to governments and local authorities to enable a favorable regulatory environment
• Assess regulatory issues and market opportunities, developing mitigation or enhancement strategies
• Facilitate high-level meetings between AWS executives and key stakeholders like senior government officials
• Manage corporate memberships in industry associations and utilize outside consultants appropriately

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Relevant experience representing a large company or organization on policy advocacy and government affairs with policymakers
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development)
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
• Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity with a strong professional reputation

Nice to Have:

• Excellent understanding of Saudi Arabia's political landscape at national, provincial, and local levels
• Strong understanding of IT issues such as cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity, data protection, trade, taxes, and e-commerce
• Demonstrated track record of achieving meaningful changes to legislative and regulatory environment through advocacy
• Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with engagement experience in government ministries
• Effective research and analytical skills to develop and support policy positions
• Effective time-management skills to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams
