About the Role

Principal Engineering Manager leading a backend platform team for Viva Engage, responsible for developing core services that power all experiences. Must have 12+ years technical experience managing high-performing engineering teams to deliver highly available products at massive scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, develop, grow and lead a team of high-performing engineers
• Scale the Engage platform to achieve projected growth and innovate on features
• Partner with Engineering teams, Product, Data Science stakeholders to drive strategic decisions
• Provide oversight, accountability, and leadership for technical architecture and decisions
• Oversee timely delivery of high quality solutions meeting customer needs and product strategy

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience
• Solid track record of hiring, managing and coaching high performing engineering teams
• Experience building and shipping production grade products, timely and with high quality
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years

Nice to Have:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience
• 4+ years people management experience
• Experience with Azure cloud offerings such as Azure Postgres, Azure Cosmos DB
• Experience owning 24x7 cloud services available 99.9% or better
