About the Role

Principal Cloud Network Engineer designs network fabrics for Azure's AI workloads, including RDMA and Infiniband. The role involves creating reliable designs, managing Pbps traffic, and collaborating with customers and vendors. It requires expertise in large-scale network ecosystems and delivering production-ready network designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive partnerships with 3rd parties for network stack integrations
• Adopt practices to identify risks and prevent bugs, define telemetry and quality metrics
• Troubleshoot and repair complex multi-layer live site issues, participate in on-call duties
• Analyze traffic patterns to modify capacity and drive innovation and cost management
• Engage as DRI or customer advocate for quality and service uptime

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in related field with 3-12+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation (depending on degree)
• 2+ years experience in a large-scale network ecosystem owning design and e2e standards
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years

Nice to Have:

• 3+ years experience delivering network designs into production with live site accountability
• 1+ year(s) experience developing quality management programs
