Key Responsibilities

• Define, lead, and conduct research projects advancing state-of-the-art AI for Microsoft's productivity products
• Shape product direction by integrating scientific methods into the product lifecycle
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, product managers, and designers as a bridge between research and product
• Teach and guide colleagues in state-of-the-art techniques and research best practices
• Share research via publications and communication to showcase cutting-edge, science-driven products

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 6+ years experience
• OR Master's Degree with 4+ years experience
• OR Doctorate with 3+ years experience
• Record of publications in top-tier scientific venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ACL)

Nice to Have:

• 7+ years experience conducting research in academic or industry settings
• 7+ years experience developing and deploying products using tools like PyTorch, C++, Huggingface
• 1+ years experience developing agentic systems and natural user interfaces
