About the Role

The Junior Data Scientist will work closely with the co-founding team to provide analytical support for data acquisition, enhancement, and business strategy. Responsibilities include exploratory data analysis, customer segmentation, KPI dashboard development, and model tuning to enhance core data assets. The role focuses on business reporting, vendor approval processes, and data enrichment using NLP and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with co-founding team to create metrics and visual dashboards for tracking growth and KPIs
• Operate and improve the proprietary Standards Board Review process for vendor ESG verification and anti-greenwashing
• Develop automated capabilities to enrich data by recognizing and tagging brand and product ESG values
• Enhance named entity recognition capabilities using natural language processing for faster brand and product matching
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, customer segmentation, and evaluate quantitative impact of business decisions

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Comfortable working in a startup environment and closely with senior management and executives
• Experience solving quantitative business problems with at least one scripting language (Python preferred, or R)
• Proficiency in SQL
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, especially for natural language applications
