About the Role

Stardrift is seeking a Founding Software Engineer to build an AI-powered travel assistant. You'll optimize LLM performance, integrate travel APIs, and develop a world-class booking experience. This is a hands-on role working closely with the founding team in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize LLM performance and build evaluations
• Integrate travel APIs like Amadeus and Duffel
• Take customer feedback and improve the product
• Work across the stack including backend, frontend, and data pipelines
• Drive projects from conception to completion

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Backend engineer who is full-stack curious
• Design simple, elegant solutions to complex problems
• Comfortable with uncertainty and pivoting based on feedback
• Detail-obsessed and scrappy problem solver
• AI-native with experience shipping an LLM app

Nice to Have:

• Appreciation for good design (UX, graphic, or systems)
• 300+ hours in planes
• Attended top schools or worked at top companies
