About the Role

The Director Sourcing Engineering Manager leads a team of supply chain professionals focused on AI networking new product introductions. They develop sourcing strategies for network and optics suppliers, manage supplier negotiations and contracts, and serve as the escalation point for component supply issues. This role requires strategic sourcing management and cross-functional collaboration within Microsoft's Cloud Supply Chain organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals dedicated to AI networking new product introductions
• Early engage with cross functional leadership to determine sourcing requirements for Network and Optics suppliers
• Develop sourcing strategies to ensure competitive cost advantage and sufficient continuity of supply
• Define RFQ/RFP activities and direct structural sourcing team to conduct negotiations with suppliers
• Manage contracting activities with Legal and ensure contract reflect Microsoft's cross functional engagements with suppliers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in same fields AND 8+ years experience OR equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience leading a team
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to Have:

• 4+ years of experience in technical sourcing, business development, field application engineering, sales, product line management, or in fields requiring technical & business acumen OR equivalent experience
• 3+ years experience in silicon engineering
