About the Role

Lead Amazon's Search and Conversational Shopping (Rufus) organization as an Applied Science Director to revolutionize e-commerce customer experience using AI. You'll define the scientific vision, lead a world-class team, and develop breakthrough AI technologies for search and conversational interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute scientific vision for Search and Conversational Shopping
• Lead team of applied scientists and software engineers
• Design and implement advanced machine learning models for NLP and conversational AI
• Drive research and development of large language models and generative AI
• Establish research priorities, technical roadmaps, and innovation strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI or related field
• 15+ years applied research experience in search, e-commerce or conversational AI
• 8+ years technical leadership experience managing scientific teams
• Proven track record deploying large-scale ML models in production

Nice to Have:

• Experience with multimodal AI systems combining text, voice, and visual search
• Strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals
