About the Role

This DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer role focuses on building and maintaining scalable data infrastructure for robotics applications at Polymath Robotics. The position involves developing solutions for fleet management, data storage, and network robustness on edge devices. You'll work at the intersection of infrastructure, networking, and robotics to enhance system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain scalable data infrastructure including Prometheus with focus on metrics, logging, and fleet management
  • Develop and optimize solutions for storing and querying large datasets including rosbags/mcap files
  • Build and maintain automated backup, recovery, and monitoring systems for high availability
  • Develop tools and dashboards for unified system performance and fleet metrics visualization
  • Research and implement best practices for network robustness on edge devices without wifi access

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience with setting up, maintaining, and scaling Prometheus and/or PostgreSQL databases in production
  • Strong coding and scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash or similar) for automation and infrastructure tooling
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and integration with data infrastructure, particularly low bandwidth connections

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with robotics data formats and tooling (e.g., rosbags)
