About the Role

Lead a team of data scientists developing AI-powered personalization features and predictive models to improve learning outcomes for millions of students. Drive the next generation of personalization across educational products while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of data scientists through coaching, mentoring, and fostering technical excellence
• Advance AI-first capabilities including agentic AI, adaptive mastery algorithms, and graph-based knowledge representations
• Deliver impactful models and insights such as learning mastery diagnostics, recommender systems, and A/B experimentation
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Learning teams to translate educational goals into AI solutions
• Establish standards for experimentation, model governance, bias detection, and reproducibility

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 2-4 years managing data scientists or ML engineers; 6-8 years in data science, ML, or applied statistics
• Expertise in Python, SQL, ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), and modern cloud data platforms
• Practical experience with LLM-based applications and agent frameworks (Google ADK, LangChain, etc.)
• Hands-on experience delivering personalization, recommender systems, or predictive analytics in production

Nice to Have:

• Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) and knowledge graph-driven personalization
• Background in education analytics, psychometrics, or learning science
