About the Role

Data Engineer role at Amazon's Workforce Solutions team building large-scale data solutions and AI-integrated platforms to empower associates globally. Focus on designing data infrastructure, developing big data pipelines, and leveraging Generative AI for data discovery and self-service capabilities. Work with massive datasets using modern cloud technologies to solve complex human problems at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-performance data structures for big data analytics
• Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions within overall data architecture
• Develop big data pipelines moving data from source systems to data warehouses, S3 data lakes, and other storage systems
• Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling and ELT/ETL processes with big data tools
• Maintain and optimize infrastructure for scalable, high-availability data lakes and pipelines processing petabyte-scale datasets

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 1+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
• Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience with any ETL tool like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.
