About the Role
AWS is seeking a Data Center Facility Engineer to operate and maintain mechanical and electrical infrastructure in data centers. The role involves troubleshooting equipment, ensuring safety standards, and supporting critical systems like UPS, HVAC, and generators. This position requires hands-on technical skills and operates on rotational 12-hour shifts.Key Responsibilities
- Follow and maintain highest safety standards and foster safety culture
- Operate and maintain electrical/mechanical equipment including UPS, HVAC, generators, and switchgear
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, Instrumentation and Control, project management or similar technical focus
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
- Ability to work rotational shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
Nice to Have:
- Familiar with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems
- Experience working in a data center environment
- Experience with data collection/trending systems
