About the Role
The Data Center Controls Engineer will innovate, deploy, optimize, and maintain automation systems (BMS and EPMS) within AWS data centers. They will manage construction and service contracts, develop controls designs, and ensure compliance with specifications. This role requires travel and involves working with cross-functional teams to support data center operations.Key Responsibilities
- Manage scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) for data center construction
- Develop controls bill of material (BOM) and building automation controls drawings
- Perform controls root cause analysis and supervise quarterly maintenance for BMS and EPMS
- Develop and modify control logic programming and graphical user interface
- Provide vendor management and financial oversight of construction and service contracts
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- 5+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent plus 5+ years of relevant controls experience, OR 10+ years of relevant controls experience without a degree
- 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience in construction and project execution
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time
Nice to Have:
- Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience in Industrial networking and communications
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Experience designing, configuring, or servicing HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems
