About the Role

This role involves designing cutting-edge data centers for AWS cloud infrastructure, transforming complex engineering challenges into efficient solutions. The Civil Engineer will lead designs for data centers in EMEA and impact global projects, working with a team of architects and engineers to ensure security, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating, reviewing and releasing data center Civil Engineering designs
• Managing the portfolio of data center designs and features
• Development and maintenance of CSA Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications
• Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects including review of civil engineering designs
• Manage external design consultants and coordinate with internal and external MEP design engineers

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
• Chartered Engineer in Ireland or equivalent overseas accreditation
• Comprehensive experience in civil engineering design for industrial, warehouse, or commercial projects
• Detailed understanding of all aspects of civil engineering including roads design, drainage systems, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, slope stability

Nice to Have:

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience in mission-critical facility design
• Direct experience with data center design, construction, or maintenance
