About the Role

Lead civil engineering designs for Amazon Data Centers in the Americas region. Manage external design consultants, develop site layouts, and coordinate with architectural and engineering teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage external civil design consultants through design and construction process
• Review designs for site layout, grading, power substations, storm water, utilities, and pavement
• Develop preliminary site layout concepts using Civil 3D
• Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications
• Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously and lead cost/quality improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Professional Engineering License or plan for achieving licensure within 12 months of start date
• 12+ years professional experience in commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial site-civil design

Nice to Have:

• 5+ years experience in civil design for Data Centers or Mission Critical facilities
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate design and constructability of site design by third-party consultants
• Proficiency in understanding and applying building codes, local regulations, and standards
• Knowledge of mission critical equipment and systems, design process, and construction requirements
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite software
