About the Role
The Controls Technician deploys and services building automation systems (BMS/EPMS) in AWS data centers across North Asia/APAC. Responsibilities include installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting control systems to ensure optimal data center performance and reliability. The role involves collaborating with multiple teams and vendors while maintaining safety and quality standards.Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain critical systems: Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot BMS and EPMS systems across multiple data centers
- Execute technical projects: Manage installations from server provisioning to sensor calibration, supervise contractor work
- Drive operational excellence: Provide commissioning support, conduct root cause analysis, create system documentation
- Enable team success: Mentor facilities teams on system operations, collaborate with vendors on Factory Witnessed Tests
- Deliver reliable service: Respond to emergencies, manage on-call rotations, oversee service agreements
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- Minimum one year of experience with low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems
- Basic understanding of industrial control systems and field signals
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Language Skills: Fluent in English and Conversational in Japanese
Nice to Have:
- One year of experience working in a data center or mission-critical environment
- ISA Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher certification (equivalent)
- Basic knowledge of network design, low-voltage cabling (copper/fiber), and building automation systems
- Understanding of data center infrastructure and operations
- Electrical license or trade certification
- Bilingual (English and Japanese)
