About the Role

The Chief Engineer oversees day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, ensuring 100% availability and first-class customer service. They manage projects, train technicians, and act as an escalation point for facility issues. This role requires expertise in critical infrastructure and leadership in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Act as escalation point for all facilities-related issues and perform root cause analysis
• Manage small-to-medium projects from conception to completion, driving innovation and cost reduction
• Direct, train, and support Engineering Operations Technicians in troubleshooting and operations
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to and utilize CMMS for workflow management

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's in applicable engineering field or mechanical/electrical trades
• Industrial or Data Center fields related Engineering
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment

Nice to Have:

• 8+ years of Technical (Military/Trade School) training and/or experience with data center facilities equipment
• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid leadership and organizational skills
