About the Role

Applied Scientist role at Twitch focused on developing ML algorithms for recommendations, search, ranking and information retrieval to help viewers discover streamers and communities. The position involves collaborating with scientists and engineers to deploy models in production and working with product teams to solve customer discovery problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop ML algorithms for recommendations, ranking and search problems to improve discovery on Twitch
• Collaborate with senior scientists and engineers to deploy ML code in production
• Work with Product and Engineering teams to determine ML solutions that impact the user base
• Participate in the scientific community at Twitch, Amazon, and broader ML community

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• BS or MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics with relevant industry experience
• Hands-on experience with predictive modeling and analysis to solve real-world problems
• Proficiency with Python and Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch or Tensorflow
• Basic proficiency with SQL

Nice to Have:

• MS/PhD in relevant fields or a Degree with a specialization in Machine Learning
• Experience shipping models to production
• 1+ years of experience working in recommendations or search
• Papers in top ML conferences or journals such as Neurips, Recsys, ICLR, ICML
• Familiarity with Twitch, its business, and its community
