About the Role

Applied Scientist role focused on developing trustworthy AI solutions for Alexa+. You'll lead research in generative AI, AI safety, and trust-preserving machine learning techniques to balance innovation with customer trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead research initiatives in generative AI, focusing on LLMs, multimodal models, and frontier AI capabilities
• Develop innovative approaches for model optimization including prompt engineering and fine-tuning
• Pioneer new methods for AI safety, alignment, and responsible AI development
• Design and execute sophisticated experiments to evaluate model performance and behavior
• Lead development of production-ready AI solutions that scale efficiently

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of building models for business application experience
• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

• Experience in professional software development
• Direct experience with leading generative AI models (e.g., GPT architectures, diffusion models)
• Background in AI safety and alignment research
