About the Role

The Applied Scientist role at Ring AI focuses on developing computer vision and machine learning technologies to enhance home security products. You will design and implement state-of-the-art vision language models and algorithms that operate at scale. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate optimized hardware and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in design, development, evaluation, deployment and updating of data-driven models for computer vision applications
• Research and implement state-of-the-art computer vision and Vision Language models algorithms
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to design computer vision and ML features for Ring devices
• Influence system design and product vision through technology selection decisions
• Develop highly optimized algorithms that work on scale

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• Experience in building models for business application
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms for computer vision

Nice to Have:

• Experience creating novel algorithms and advancing the state of the art
• Experience designing AI, Computer Vision, or Mapping products
• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audience
• Experience in Vision Language Models and LLMs
• Exhibits excellent business judgment balancing business, product, and technology
