About the Role
The Applied Scientist II role focuses on developing generative AI solutions for conversational ad experiences within Amazon Ads. Responsibilities include driving end-to-end AI projects, training and deploying models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position requires expertise in generative AI, large language models, and machine learning to enhance advertising and shopper experiences.Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end generative AI projects with high ambiguity, scale, and complexity
- Perform hands-on analysis of data sets to build models enhancing monetization and shopper experience
- Train generative AI and machine learning models, run experiments, and deploy at scale in production
- Work closely with software engineers on technical designs and implementation of production solutions
- Research new generative AI and machine learning approaches and collaborate with product managers
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have:
- 3+ years of building models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
Nice to Have:
- Experience in professional software development
- Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
- Experience in an online advertising role with familiarity with advertising products and ad serving technologies
- Experience developing, deploying and managing AI products at scale
