About the Role

This Applied Scientist II role at Prime Video focuses on developing machine learning models for recommendation and search systems using deep learning and optimization methods. The scientist will work on personalization solutions, publish research, and collaborate with engineering teams to deploy production solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop ML models for recommendation & search systems using deep learning, online learning, and optimization methods
• Work with scientists, engineers and product managers to expand product insights with data and create experiments
• Stay up-to-date with advancements and latest modeling techniques in the field
• Publish research findings in top conferences and journals
• Guide and collaborate with engineering teams and senior leaders on personalization solutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
• 3+ years of building models for business application experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing

Nice to Have:

• Experience using Unix/Linux
• Experience in professional software development
