About the Role

This Applied Scientist II role focuses on developing AI-driven solutions for Amazon's talent acquisition processes. You'll design algorithms, models, and end-to-end systems using deep learning and LLMs to solve complex hiring problems at scale. The position involves technical leadership, research, and cross-functional collaboration to transform hiring through technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end systems for talent acquisition
  • Write technical white papers and create technical roadmaps
  • Drive production-level projects supporting Amazon Science
  • Design new algorithms, models, or technical solutions
  • Work with diverse groups and cross-functional teams to solve business problems

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

  • PhD, or Master's degree with experience building ML models/algorithms for business
  • Master's degree or above in engineering, technology, computer science, ML, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

Nice to Have:

  • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Experience in designing experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience in solving business problems through ML, data mining and statistical algorithms
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks or GenAI tools
