About the Role

Lead a team of data and research scientists to develop and deploy ML and optimization models for Amazon's last-mile delivery network. Drive solutions for outbound transportation planning, impacting supply chain efficiency and profitability. Manage the full lifecycle from research to production integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of data and research scientists in designing, developing, and evaluating ML/optimization models
• Technically lead and mentor scientists, applying latest ML techniques and best practices
• Establish scalable, automated processes for data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation
• Work closely with BI and data engineers to build large-scale data pipelines for models
• Turn high-level business requirements into mathematical models and prepare solutions for production systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• 3+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience
• PhD
• Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval and Analytics
• Knowledge of engineering practices for full software/hardware/networks development life cycle

Nice to Have:

• Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
• Experience building complex software systems involving deep learning, machine learning, and computer vision
• Japanese language ability
