About the Role

The AI Research Scientist - Language role at Meta's MRS AI Knowledge team focuses on advancing large language model research to enhance recommendation systems. Responsibilities include designing experiments, contributing to publications, and applying research to product development. The position requires expertise in generative AI, LLMs, and deep learning frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate and execute on research pushing state of the art in large language models
• Contribute to experiments including designing details, writing code, and running evaluations
• Contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts
• Identify long-term research goals and intermediate milestones
• Prioritize research applicable to Meta's product development

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field (or equivalent experience)
• PhD degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field (in process or completed)
• Experience in developing solutions for computer vision, NLP, or computer graphics
• Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment

Nice to Have:

• Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., pytorch, tensorflow) and Python
• Proven track record via publications, patents, or grants in ML, Robotics, or CV conferences
• Research/software engineering experience via internships, open source, or competitions
• Experience working cross-functionally and analyzing large-scale data
